Music Monday!

This week's musical inspiration is the lovely Zee Avi.
I recommend a sunset drive with the windows down, listening to this sweet little tune.

Loveful, Thoughtful Friday

Hello dear readers.

Today would be our Loveful, Thoughtful Friday, but sadly I did not receive any new messages this week. Let's change this in the future. I encourage every reader of this site to send in something. Questions, quotes, stories, or otherwise. There's no reason to be shy; and there's every reason to share. The more we show our love, the more people we have a chance of reaching with it.

Email it all here: we.are.one@inbox.com

Since we have no questions to answer or stories to share, I would just like to pass on a personal, loving thought, from me to all of you beautiful people...

Do you have something that you've been wanting to do for a while but have yet to put into action? A goal or dream or desire, no matter how simple or grand? Going for a picnic in the park, learning another language, reaching out to new friends, taking time off for vacation, learning to paint, volunteering at a shelter, going abroad, visiting relatives, following your passion...

Well, whatever it may be, small or large, easy or hard: GO AFTER IT. This instant.
Trust me. I know from experience how much your life can change in a day, in a night, in just a few hours.

No more waiting, dear people. Life is NOW. Live it.

I wish you so much peace and love.

Thankful Thursday

(Source: davidrisley, edited by RoseAlma)

This Thursday I am grateful for my oldest brother, Jason. He recently moved back up to Tennessee after living down in Florida. And for now, he is staying with us at my parents' house. Usually he keeps to himself. He's quiet and incredibly creative, always working on some new project.

The past few days, I've unexpectedly found myself in the middle of another exacerbation - a bout of sickness related to my CF. I'm on IV antibiotics through my port-a-cath. And now ordinary, everyday things have become harder than ever.

This afternoon, I was sitting and doing one of my seemingly regular breathing treatments with a vibrating therapy vest for my chest. I've done this ever since I was a child, and it is routine for me. But the past few days, ever since my lung function has dropped, doing the vest makes me feel like I am suffocating. I quickly become overheated and end up gasping for air.

Well, this particular time with vest, Jason was the only one in the room. The moment he saw my pale, gasping face, he knew what to do. He turned on our portable standup fan and pointed it in my direction (but not at my face, because he knew that would make it hard for me to breathe too). I started crying a bit, as it was one of my toughest moments yet. Jason came over and held my hand tightly as I closed my eyes and tried to find an equilibrium. His energy and love made an immediate difference. For the rest of the treatment, instead of thinking about how scared I was or how hard it was to breathe, I thought about how much I love my brother. And what a loving heart he carries around so quietly in his chest.

I am thankful for my oldest brother Jason. My quiet, loving protector.

Beautiful ones, what are you thankful for?

the Love around us

Hello dear beings.

Today I want us to pause and take a moment solely for ourselves. Stop reading, working, talking, cleaning, studying, or worrying about the many intricacies of everyday life. Just take a brief step away, five minutes (or more if you feel so inclined). Read this, and then try doing as it says:

Sit down alone, in a quiet place. Close your eyes. Now think about all the love you have in your life: who or where it comes from, how it makes you feel. To start, make a mental or written list. Share it here, if you will. But after trying to identify each individual source of love and how each makes you feel, take it one step further.

Try to feel all the love that surrounds you at once.
Experience the hum of endless love in the world around you.

Love is all around you. See it, feel it, and embrace it.
Try this practice more regularly. It could do amazing things for you.

Peace and love, beautiful ones.

"Have you ever felt so at one with the world, with the universe,
with everything that is, that you were overcome with love?
That is reality. That is the truth... No matter what happens,
no matter what appears to be, the only reality is love."
Richard Bach, One (1936-)

Music Monday!

I wish to welcome you to "Music Monday!" Every Monday we will enjoy some sort of love-centric tune. Sometimes upbeat, sometimes slow and contemplative; but always infused with beauty and love.

The reason: Monday can be a tough day to ease into. Especially for those trying to make the transition from weekend relaxer to weekday worker. I personally believe music can do wonders in this area of life (as well as infinite others). It lifts the spirit, puts a hop in your step, and pins a smile on your beautiful face.

So... here's our very first tune! Enjoy.

"Love.

There is no difficulty that enough love will not conquer;
no disease that enough love will not heal;
no door that enough love will not open;
no gulf that enough love will not bridge;
no wall that enough love will not throw down;
no sin that enough love will not redeem.

It makes no difference how deeply seated may be the trouble,
how hopeless the outlook,
how muddled the tangle,
how great the mistake:

a sufficient realization of love will dissolve it all."

Emmet Fox (1886-1951), 20th century spiritual leader and writer

Love, every step of the way.

Loveful, Thoughtful Friday

Loveful, Thoughtful Friday is the occasion every week where I will share questions that beautiful individuals (like you) have written to me. I will sit and take a few moments to absorb, contemplate, and respond. All with a thoughtful, open mind and a caring, loving heart.

It doesn't just have to be questions though, sweet people. It can also be stories, quotes, or random inspiration and love that you wish to share. I will read meaningful messages of all kinds, and then share with our beautiful community here. Anything that inspires a heartfelt dialogue is most welcome.

(a sidenote: I only intend to mention first names, out of love and respect for you and your privacy.)

So let us begin...

(I apologize for the blurriness and the image distortion. I will try to improve this in the future.)

Thank you for reading and watching, everyone! And I encourage all of you to take an active role in our growing community. Send in questions, comments, stories, anecdotes, quotes, thoughts.

Anything thought-provoking, inspirational, and/or intended with love. And if we have enough messages coming in, I may even respond to some in the middle of the week and not only on Fridays.
So bring on the love. :)

In the meantime, Happy Loveful Friday to you all!
Peace and infinite love.
Rosie

Thankful Thursday

As part of a new weekly tradition, I would like to welcome you to the start of...

"Thankful Thursdays."
(Source: AttractingWellness, edited by RoseAlma)

Gratitude is something that I think, as busy human beings, we sometimes forget to show. Not because we are ill-intentioned or even ungrateful; but because we are in a hurry, or too distracted, or too inwardly focused instead of outwardly observant. So in an effort to help us all slow down and refocus on the little things that deserve our appreciation, we will pause briefly every Thursday. I will share something in my life, whether large or small, that I am thankful for.

In return, I ask that all you beautiful readers out there share something that you are thankful for. :)

I think it will be a healthy practice that will do us wonders.

So... this Thursday I am thankful for two things:

The first - My youngest and adorable nephew Brandon. He is two-years-old, about to be three. And this morning he surprised me by knocking on my bedroom door and asking to play in my room. I lent him my "castle" (which is actually my last surviving Polly Pocket toy from childhood - the original, miniature Pollies, that is) to play with, as well as my green marti gras beads and matching green poker hat. And I just sat with him making ridiculous faces, all of which elicited the most adorable giggles you ever did hear. This darling face made my day, and I am so grateful for his sweet little soul.

The second - A very special individual who, sixth months ago today, changed my life forever. This person is the most beautiful soul I have ever known. And I am thankful, every day and every moment, for his love.

Beautiful readers, what are you thankful for?

Ingenuity, Positivity, and Love

And the beautiful crew responsible:

I am here with a loving heart.

Hello beautiful world.

I am embarking on a new experience here. Feeling inspired by the strides that a former schoolmate is making to help others (in her case and career: college students), I realized today that I myself have been experiencing a growing yearning within. A deep and genuine desire to reach out to other beautiful souls. People who need or want someone to talk to, or those who need an ounce more of love in their every day life. And I have so much love to give. I want to give it to you.

I understand that before accepting love from someone, you need to trust them. Relate to them. Know them. You need to feel a connection. So I will happily share about the person I am, and what brought me to this peak of love, this gift I lay before you.

My name is Rosie, and I am 24-years-old. Raised in a very large and loving family, I was fortunate to always be surrounded by warmth and laughter. After four years of university, I graduated with an Undergraduate degree in Education. My dream was always to teach preschool. For the last three years, however, my career has been postponed. And perhaps it is gone forever. The reason being, I also face health challenges: I was born with a genetic lung disease, Cystic Fibrosis (CF). And after graduating, my lungs began to decline.

I am now on the list for a double-lung transplant. And every day is beautiful.

I have known for over a year that this was my fate. And I have had many dark moments because of it. But through the darkness, one thing has always helped me to rise above.

Love.

And now, though my health is just as unstable and my fate more uncertain every day, my spirit and heart is stronger than ever. I feel love in the faces of my family, friends, and strangers. I feel love in the wind and the trees and the setting sun. I feel love in the grass beneath my feet and the sound of my nephews' laughs and the touch of my loved one's hand. I feel love in everything. Especially the brief moments that I share with new beautiful strangers. Every hello, every smile, could change the course of someone's day. And I thrive on those everyday beauties.

Aside from being a Peaceful Warrior fighting the battle for my life, I am also a lover of the arts. I'm a poet, a filmmaker, a cook, a beginning painter, graffiti artist, amateur photographer, a musician, and a designer of recycled-paper greeting cards. I love creating, and I love being able to infuse my emotions and love into my work.

So now that you know me more, I ask you... Will you accept my offer of love?

Here is what I propose:

I will be here --> we.are.one@inbox.com
And you email me a question you have, or a concern, or just a pondering about life. Perhaps it's something you feel too shy or embarrassed to ask others, or too scared to ask yourself. Or perhaps you just needed a loving awakening to realize that someone out there cares for you, even if we've never met.
So write me, and I will write or video back. :)

You are loved, and I plan to show you that.

In the meantime, I will share quotes and videos and photos of all things love.
There are so many sources of love in the world, if only we will keep our eyes and hearts open to them.

'Til we meet again, my beautiful ones.
Peace and love to you.
Rosie
